Returning to life

On my design wall this weekend.
A completed top for a  cot quilt for the new addition to our extended family, my grandson's cousin.
I had made a quilt in the red for his brother and as they would be sharing a room I incorporated some of that in this quilt.

This was another cot quilt made this year for my dear friend's granddaughter, thankfully there were babies born this year or I wouldn't have sewn at all.

Our own  healthy baby boys were born late September,  3 boys under 2 now for my lovely daughter and son in law..
So cute when we went to see them at the hospital my daughter told her son, look I have made you some friends.
So lovely the joy of my heart my family.
No new quilts yet, fabric bought and designs in my head.
It is good to be back playing in my sewing room, listening to my radio and relaxing.

Birthday fat quarter swap

I am in an online group that is swapping fat quarters on our birthdays,
I have recently had my birthday and I received some lovely fabrics and some very  generous gifts too.
I just want to thank everyone who sent me a parcel, it made my week.
I will try and post photos next week.
Since my last post we  have had a very stressful time, due to my dear husbands health, we have found we have a fight on our hands.
I  have a baby quilt to finish, the top is done and my grandsons eye spy quilt to complete, so I will share those when they are done......hugs to all

Hexagon Quilt

I have completed my hexagon applique quilt at long last.
My friend Margaret sent me a photo of her quilt some time ago and I liked it so much decided to make one for myself.
It was from a Patchwork and quilting magazine, now I have many P & Q's but couldn't find the particular one, so I went ahead and made it from the photo, I had papers left over from the other 3 hexagon quilts I had done, it is good to be crazy :-)
I hand quilted it, should have taken a photo of the back, it is all different squares, I would never do that again when I was going to hand quilt , learnt that lesson the hard way. oh well, we live and learn. ....hugs for now.

Friday and Saturday

I was meant to open my stocking parcel on Friday and the reasons I didn't are because I spent Friday with my grandson, isn't he cute.

Then Saturday was spent shopping, apart from the usual Sat groceries, I got this lovely club set, hope it improves my golf game...hugs Lyn
